11th Educational Leadership Conference 2012

24th February 2012 - University of Wollongong

The Conference will provide participants with opportunities to engage with significant changes taking place in education nationally and internationally and to consider their practical implications for teachers and leaders at the local level.

Keynote speakers and session presenters will highlight the global issues impacting on national structures in educational organisations and address the effects these issues have in institutional support, curriculum, leadership and capacity building at system levels and in schools.

Evidence-based Leadership: Reading the Sign Posts
Recent shifts in educational policies have increased professional and managerial accountabilities and raised public scrutiny of education. These changes have direct or indirect implications for school leadership, teacher development and professionalism, for quality teaching and learning, and better student outcomes.

The 2012 conference provides opportunities to examine the effects of  these challenges and  the importance of using  evidence to guide decisions relating to governance and management structures, leadership, teaching and  pedagogical  practices.
